Privé Vitale Clinic - 11th Feb 2015 Bloggers' Event & 17th Feb 2015 Botox Session with Dr Karen Soh

Hello!

As mentioned in the previous blog entry on Privé Vitale Clinic, some bloggers and I were invited for an event by Privé Vitale Clinic + BeautyCleanse.

But first of all...

#SELFIE + #OOTD first!

Dress : @ohsofickle
Necklace : @ewe_me
Bag : Qoo10sg
Shoes : Charles and Keith
Watch : Titus

Decided to go simple with this pretty little yellow frock from @ohsofickle.
Love the pleats especially.

If you notice I always try to keep my shoes and bag simple so there is more emphasis on what I am wearing :D

So here we are : Privé Vitale Clinic @ Chevron House

Let's talk a little tour around....

 I super love this quote!
It says, "Be your own kind of beautiful."
I think it is super important to firstly appreciate and embrace yourself and love yourself, seeking
aesthetics treatment as an enhancement, not to the extend of depending on it and expecting a drastic
change!

As I stepped into the clinic, I remembered telling Jov, "Wa, super clean and cosy!"

The price list for your information :D

I really like the concept of using bright colours to catch the customers' attention.
It makes you really want to grab a copy of the brochure to see what's in it.

Inside the treatment room.
I thought it was pretty spacious!
Doesn't feel enclosed and intimidating, especially for those seeking treatment!

And here we go!
Dr Karen explaining to us a little more about Botox and Fillers, what are they and also
what are they commonly used for/areas they are being used at.

She did a demo on this pretty girl in black, which she showed us how she
inject Botox and Fillers for enhancement.

Dr Karen Soh also showed us this numbing tool that she uses for her patients.
This tool produces a temperature of -120'C when you leave it on a specific area of your
skin and due to the temperature (too cold), you will not feel anything during the injection.

After that. we had a little talk on juice-cleansing by BeautyCleanse Founder, Boon.
We were also generously offered their juices to try.

I am still contemplating if I should do this cleanse as I have gastric issues on & off.
But I have heard pretty good reviews on them, and might try if I get a green light after consulting my family doctor :D

For more info, do visit their site at : http://www.beauty-cleanse.com/

After the informative sessions, we had a tea-break and photography session!
We were provided with cute photography props to use!
How fun! :D

CRIED WHEN I SAW THOSE YUMMY PASTRIES
(Okay too drama, I'm kidding! :P But they really taste awesome!)

#selfie with my pretty Jov ♥

Pictures with the props/bloggers!

Haha this prop is really cute, and everyone there was literally waiting for their turn
to get a photograph with it :D

Photo with very pretty Dr Karen Soh :D
(P/s : Her oldest kid is 14, can you believe it?!?!)

---

Fast forward to 17th February 2015, I had a Botox treatment with Dr Karen Soh.

What is Botox?

It is a prescribed drug made from a neurotoxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum called botulinum toxin.
It works by temporarily paralyzing muscles and is widely used medically to treat certain muscular conditions and cosmetically remove wrinkles.

What are the common types of Botox?

They are being sold commercially under these names :
- Botox, Vistabel, Botox cosmetic (OnabotulinumtoxinA or botulinum toxin type A)
- Dysport (AbobotulinumtoxinA or botulinum toxin type A)
- Bocouture, Xeomin (IncobotulinumtoxinA or botulinum toxin type A)
- Myobloc (RimabotulinumtoxinB or botulinum toxin type B)

*The one highlighted in red was the one Dr Karen used on me :D

Some of the common areas being treated aesthetically
with Botox are :

Glabellar Lines (frown lines between the eyebrows)
Canthal Lines (Wrinkles at the sides of our eyes)
Crow's Feet Lines (Wrinkles at the outer corners of our eyes that forms a "crow's feet")
Laugh lines
Jaw line

*Botox is also being used to treat larger areas (calves - muscle reduction) etc, and
also for certain medicinal reasons like spasms, etc.

Difference between Botox and Injectable Fillers :

While Botox works by paralyzing muscles thus reducing movement/activity
of muscles causing wrinkles, soft tissue fillers works differently by filling in facial wrinkles
to help restore smoother appearances.
Fillers are also commonly used to on areas like noses and chins to create a
lengthening or heightening effect.

Side Effects of Botox :

Some of the side effects of Botox are - pain at the injection site, infection, inflammation, swelling, redness, bleeding and bruising. Sometimes, symptoms may also include an allergic reaction such as itching, wheezing, asthma, a rash, red welts, dizziness and faintness.

Please check with your aesthetics doctor before undergoing any form of Botox treatment

Prior to the treatment, I was first asked to fill up a consent form.

I recalled we took a number of shots due to the lighting
and the nurse there was so patiently waiting for us :D

Was then brought into the room to sign another consent form for photography purposes
to compare the before and after.
Was told that photos are only used within the clinic by the doctors and will never
be shown to public for privacy purposes :D

Photo - front and side for comparison's sake!

Note that I did not edit the photos so that there is fair comparison.

While waiting for Dr Karen Soh, the nurse helped remove the makeup on my jaw-line.

Seriously feels like home with the comfy leather seat and nice warm blanket! :D

And on to the treatment.
There wasn't numbing cream applied, rather, Dr Soh used this numbing tool on me
and true enough - I FEEL NO PAIN!
Was really amazed!
And it actually feels quite comfortable :D

My face was epic, but I couldn't remember what we were saying haha

Before I leave, a picture with the pretty Dr Karen Soh :D

Was told that the effects of the Botox will only be seen 3-5 days later, and more
significantly 1-2 weeks after.
There is no downtime, no/minor bleeding, no scarring and you can do it within just
10-15mins time!

:D

Five days after my Botox treatment, I took a photo to compare my results.

Look at my jaw muscles!!!
Really become smaller right?!?
(I swear I DID NOT edit anything on the after photo.)

I am really happy with my results, and after 4-6 months (which is the time
for the Botox injection to fully dissolve), I might go back to the clinic again
for maintenance.
