Because it's Bangkok baby!

Hola all!

I've always wanted to share a thing or two about Bangkok but I feel that it might be redundant as the majority of you should have visited the places that I will later recommend in this post.

But hey for the sake of the other majority of you guys that are unsure (hehehe), let me share the top 5 things you can do in Bangkok!

---

(1) VISIT TALAD ROD FAI (TRAIN MARKET)

There are a couple of Train markets in Bangkok now, probably due to it's huge popularity not only among the locals but also the tourists.

I particularly enjoy shopping at the stalls set up in individual tentages - they resemble so much like the Pasar Malams in Singapore!

There are 4 Train Markets as of Nov 2016 :

1) Talad Rod Fai Srinakarin
2) Talad Rod Fai Ratchada
3) Talad Rod Fai Kaset-Nawamin (as of July 2016)
4) Talad Neon (as of Nov 2016)

My favourite will definitely be Talad Rod Fai Srinakarin as it is the largest Train Market out of the four, and has the most authentic vintage vibes to it with many classic/retro vehicles, antiques and displays!

Of course not forgetting stalls lined up selling a wide variety of street food 😍

There are little retro "coffeeshops" or drink stalls around Talad Rod Fai Srinakarin that really caught my attention - you have to see it to believe it!

Those vibes~ 😍

We explored deeper into Talad Rod Fai Srinakarin and took some photos with the antique cars/displays - absolutely no regrets.

Do explore the rest of the Train Markets if you have the time to spare! 😉

Talad Rod Fai Srinakarin
1700hrs to midnight
Thursday to Sunday
Price of food/items : $-$$
Remarks : An absolute MUST-GO when you visit Bangkok

(2) VISIT EITHER ANIMAL CAFE / ZOO CAFE

I think visiting this place was my best takeaway from this Bangkok trip.
It's rare that you get to mingle around and interact with exotic animals that you can only see behind cages/glass doors at the Zoo.

It was a pity that the only Fenning Fox was sleeping when we were there but we got to see Raccoons, a Caracal Cat, Savannah Cats and Owls!

😋

So cute right?!?😋

Sleepyhead~~~

Savannah Cat!
Quite scary because they are a little feisty..

Caracal Cat

Meow meow~

😍😍😍 Fenning Fox!

Raccoon that can't wait to get out haha

Heart melts....😍

Snow Owl (She is actually pretty furry haha)

Desert Owl!

😂😂😂

We ordered two drinks, BBQ Chicken Wings & French Fries with entrance fee for two at a total of 600THB.

Food and drinks was so-so.
The animals made it up for this cafe visit that's for sure.

(3) Go cafe hopping!

Sadly during the time of my visit it was during the New Year holidays so many cafes were not opened.

Still glad I managed to visit two cafes at least during my 4 day trip in BKK.

103+ Factory Cafe (Ari Street)

The interior looks amazing and instagrammable; so does the rainbow crepe cake.
Taste wise, sadly it wasn't as good as how it looked.

There are tons of hipster cafes along Ari Street so be sure to check out the rest of the cafes for me! 😋

Price of food/items : $$-$$$
Remarks : Must visit Ari Street if you have a day to spare for Cafe-hopping in BKK!

Warm Wood Cafe (Thong Lor)

 High Tea Set ❤️

 Interior goals 😍

We spent about 600-700thb for a high tea set; food was alright.
Price is a little hefty for cafes in Bangkok imo.

But this place is by far the most instagrammable/photogenic cafe I have ever been to in Bangkok that's for sure.

Price of food/items : $$$
Remarks : Must visit at least once when you are in BKK!

(4) Visit Asiatique!

Asiatique's iconic Ferris Wheel - Mekhong Ferris Wheel!

Asiatique's latest instalment - the magical carousel 😍

I honestly am not a huge fan when it comes to shopping at Asiatique as prices tend to be slightly steeper even for the open food stalls there.
I would recommend all of you to visit just for the vibes and it is pretty cooling to shop there as Asiatique is located strategically right beside the river.

Price of food/items : $$-$$$$
Remarks : Must visit at least once when you are in BKK!

(5) Shop at Siam Square

Siam Square is located right opposite Siam Paragon.
Many of you might have missed out on this hidden gem while getting too engrossed shopping at Siam Paragon or Siam Center.

I really like the little shops that stretch out to the other end and the many more in between that you have to find while exploring that area.

Most clothings sold there range from 100thb to 300thb; really reasonable and you don't have to beat the constant huge crowd at Platinum Mall almost every single day.

Price of food/items : $-$$$
Remarks : Hidden gem in the heart of Central Bangkok

Really enjoyed my trip to Bangkok this time as I managed to cover a little more than I usually would (due to time constraints).
I heard that the Dinosaur World will be opening very soon so hopefully I can visit during my next trip to BKK!

- More recent updates can be found on my Dayre -

Hope this helps a little on your itinerary planning to Bangkok!
Thank you for reading❤️

With love,
